Its almost like you had to have the stark contrast to realize your inner truth through the moments of solitude where you stood still within. impressive! i know people who never pause.... always busy planning the next thing, doing the next trip, making the next event... its a testament to you that you could tap into that awareness and value it!

Thank you so much! I think you explained it perfectly. I’ve always been a go-getter, high achiever, on the move. Which I think has some merit and a good trait to have; however, I’m learning the value of slowing down and “being where my feet are”. Trying to balance ambition with contentment, hence the name of my newsletter, Present and Progressing 😁

Thanks for reading and for your support. Hope you have a great Sunday! ☀️🙌🏻

What a refreshing read. I obviously wasn't there, but I could feel the slow down in your writing. My favorite kind of travel is one with no itinerary. Wandering, getting lost, vagabonding. Like you said, it can be such an introspective experience, and reminder us of what's most important.

100%. Back home now and getting readjusted to “normal” day to day life. Definitely will miss this period of my life, but will definitely look to recreate this lifestyle in the future 🙌🏻

Hey Ryan, I resonated with your story, not because of things that I did similar to you, but rather what I didn't. When I moved to another city to study for 5 years, I now realize that most days I wasn't present, I wasn't calm, and most likely I missed a lot of opportunities and friendships. Either I don't regret a single thing, as I've learned a lot from those years. I arrived there as a little boy, and left as (from what I believe) a young adult, much more mature and wiser. Thank you for sharing this

One more thing. In my 47 years, I have never traveled alone. It has always struck me Has such a brave and vulnerable experience. One day!

Highly recommend! It’s truly a life changing experience. Glad to be home now, but those six months really helped me mature and grow.

Congratulations on your engagement! I feel happy reading all the wonderful experiences you've shared therein. I love how you said, "Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is stop trying to shape the moment and let it shape you." -- it brought me back to the times when I used to solo travel, it really does have a way of unraveling something in you, sitting in the quiet of what's right infront you is a pleasure only a few can get to have. Thanks for sharing 🫶
